The best travel pillows range from adjustable neck support to blanket cases that double as pillows, so the right choice depends on how you rest and what you want to carry. These five picks include dedicated neck pillows and convertible blanket options, with different tradeoffs in adjustability, coverage, and included travel extras.

Adjustable Neck and Chin Support
Coop Home Goods AirJustable Travel Neck Pillow, Inflatable, Adjustable Support for Neck & Chin, Compact, Soft Memory Foam Comfort, Airplane Travel Essentials, Cooling & Washable Cover
The Coop Home Goods AirJustable is an inflatable neck pillow with memory foam Oomph fill, an adjustable cord, and a clasp for a more secure fit. Its air pump lets you change the firmness, while the shape is designed to support the head, neck, and chin.
Deflate it, fold it, and store it in the included compact travel bag or attach it to a carry-on. A removable, machine-washable cover adds a practical cleanup option after trips.
This design suits travelers who want to tune support as they settle into different seats, though the records do not give packed dimensions or an inflation time.
Best For: Travelers who want to adjust pillow firmness and fit for different resting positions.
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
|
|
Choose this pillow if adjustable firmness and neck-and-chin support matter more than having a simple, fixed-shape cushion. Its foldable format and carry bag make storage straightforward, while the washable cover helps with upkeep.
Before buying, check the packed size and weight if bag space is tight. Also consider whether you prefer managing an inflatable support system; travelers looking for a pillow that is ready to use without adjustment may prefer a fixed foam design.
Full-Size Neck Pillow in a Compact Carry Set
Honeydew Scrumptious Travel Pillow – Made in USA with Cooling Copper Gel Fill – CertiPUR Certified – Adjustable Travel Companion for Airplane & Traveling - Ergonomic Neck & Shoulder Support
The Honeydew Scrumptious is a memory foam travel pillow sized at 21 by 12 inches, with a pillowcase and carrying bag included. The bag is designed to slide onto a suitcase handle, which keeps the pillow with rolling luggage.
Its copper-infused foam and cover are described as cooling, and the pillow is made by hand in California. This larger neck-pillow format may suit people who want a more substantial cushion than a compact folded blanket case.
The record does not specify the pillow's weight, firmness, or whether its cover can be washed, so check those details if portability and care are priorities.
Best For: Travelers who want a memory foam neck pillow with a fitted case and luggage-handle sleeve.
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
|
|
This option fits travelers who want a dedicated memory foam neck pillow rather than a blanket packed into a pillow-shaped case. The included carry bag and suitcase-handle sleeve support luggage-based transport, but the 21 by 12 inch pillow size is useful to consider when planning what to stow.
Compare its fixed foam format with the Coop's adjustable inflatable design if you want to change firmness. Confirm care instructions and weight before purchase if cleaning or carrying comfort are deciding factors.
Single Blanket Pillow for Cold Cabins
BlueHills Premium Soft Travel Blanket Pillow Airplane Blanket Packed in Soft Bag Pillowcase with Hand Luggage Belt and Backpack Clip, Compact Pack Large Plush for Any Travel (Royal Blue T003)
This BlueHills option combines a plush travel blanket with a soft carrying case that doubles as a pillow when the blanket is packed inside. The case measures 11.5 by 10 inches and has an attached luggage belt; a backpack clip is also included.
Unpacked, the blanket measures 60 by 43 inches, giving it useful coverage for a seat or a small couch throw. It is a practical fit for travelers who want warmth as well as a place to rest their head.
Because the pillow is the filled case rather than a dedicated neck-support shape, check whether that form suits your preferred sleeping position.
Best For: Travelers who want a soft blanket that packs into its own pillowcase and clips to luggage.
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
|
|
Choose this BlueHills model if a blanket is as important as a pillow and you like keeping the two functions together. The case can be carried on luggage or clipped to a bag, and its stated pack dimensions help with space planning.
The tradeoff is shape: a soft case pillow does not offer the adjustable cord or described chin support found in the Coop pillow. Consider how you sleep in a seat and whether blanket coverage matters more than a dedicated neck contour.
Memory Foam Pillow and Flight Essentials Kit
Homeify Airplane Neck Pillow Includes Travel Pillow + Airplane Phone Holder Mount + Eye Masks + Earplugs for Travel, 100% Pure Memory Foam Travel Pillow, 4 Pc Travel Kit, 2 Pack
Homeify pairs a memory foam neck pillow with a phone clamp, eye mask, earplugs, and a storage bag. The pillow has an adjustable strap and an ergonomic curved shape intended to help keep the head from falling forward.
Its cover is machine washable. The phone holder clamps onto surfaces up to 1.5 inches thick and rotates in multiple directions, so the set also supports hands-free viewing where a suitable mounting surface is available.
This is a bundle for travelers who want several flight accessories together. Consider the extra pieces and whether you will use them, since the record does not specify the packed size of the complete kit.
Best For: Travelers who want a neck pillow bundled with an eye mask, earplugs, and phone holder.
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
|
|
This kit makes sense if you would otherwise pack an eye mask, earplugs, and a phone holder alongside a neck pillow. The curved pillow shape and adjustable strap address fit, while the clamp and rotating mount add a separate viewing use.
That bundle means more pieces to store than a stand-alone pillow; check the overall pack size and confirm your seat or tray has a compatible mounting surface. If you only need neck support, a simpler pillow may be easier to pack.
Longer Blanket Coverage in a Pillow Case
BlueHills Premium Soft Tall Travel Blanket Pillow for Airplane Traveling Essentials Long Flight Trip Throw in Bag case with Backpack Clip Compact Large Plane Accessories Beige T053
This BlueHills blanket pillow is designed around a 70 by 48 inch blanket for coverage on trips or as a couch throw. It folds into a matching plush zipper bag that comes with a soft luggage strap.
A backpack clip is included for carrying it on a separate bag. The blanket is washer and dryer safe and provides extra warmth while traveling.
This is a useful choice when warmth and coverage take priority over a shaped neck cushion. Check the packed size and weight before buying, as those details are not given for this model.
Best For: Travelers seeking a longer blanket that packs into a case with luggage attachments.
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
|
|
Pick this model if a longer blanket is your priority and you want it to convert into a pillow for transport. The 70 by 48 inch coverage distinguishes it from the shorter blanket choices here, while the carry attachments make it easier to keep with luggage.
As with other blanket-case designs, it will not provide the adjustable fit of an inflatable neck pillow. Check how much space the packed bundle takes and whether you want a blanket you can wash and dry at home.
How to Choose Travel Pillows
How We Picked Travel Pillows
We focused on products that provide a clear pillow function for travel and offer distinct ways to rest: adjustable neck support, memory foam cushioning, or a blanket case that becomes a pillow. That leaves room for both travelers who want a dedicated neck pillow and those who value a warm layer as well.
We also considered how each option travels. Carry bags, luggage sleeves, straps, clips, washable covers, and bundled accessories affect what is convenient to pack and use.
Duplicate color offers and multi-piece blanket sets were left out when they repeated a selected model or added quantity rather than a distinct pillow design.
Comparing Travel Pillows for Flights
The Coop AirJustable provides the most adjustable support in this group, with inflation, an adjustable cord, and a removable washable cover. Honeydew takes a fixed memory foam approach and includes a pillowcase and suitcase-handle carry bag.
Homeify adds an eye mask, earplugs, and a phone mount, making it the broadest accessory bundle.
BlueHills takes a different route: the blanket folds into a soft case that works as a pillow. The royal blue model offers a 60 by 43 inch blanket, while the beige tall version measures 70 by 48 inches.
That makes the tall version more useful when coverage is a priority, but neither blanket case is described with adjustable neck support.

Choosing an Airplane Neck Pillow or Blanket Pillow
Think first about your resting position. A neck pillow with an adjustable cord, like the Coop, gives you a way to change fit and firmness.
A fixed memory foam option may suit travelers who prefer a simple cushion. Blanket pillows are useful when cabin warmth matters as much as head support, but a packed blanket case has a different shape from a dedicated neck cushion.
Portability also looks different across designs. Honeydew's case slides over a suitcase handle, while the Coop folds into its own bag and BlueHills options include luggage attachments.
Homeify adds several accessories, which can reduce the need to pack them separately but may take more room as a complete set. Packed dimensions and weight are not supplied for several models, so check those details if every bit of carry-on space matters.
Care, Fit, and Travel Accessories
Check the cleaning method before settling on a pillow for frequent trips. The Coop has a removable, machine-washable cover, and the BlueHills blanket options are described as washer and dryer safe.
Honeydew's care details are not given here, while Homeify specifies a washable pillowcase.
For add-ons, decide whether you will use them. Homeify's phone clamp fits surfaces up to 1.5 inches thick and includes an eye mask and earplugs.
If you do not need those items, compare its pillow features with the simpler standalone options. For blanket-case pillows, consider the blanket's actual measurements and whether a soft rectangular case will suit the way you rest.
Who Should Buy Which Travel Pillow?
Choose the Coop Home Goods AirJustable if changing firmness and fit is your priority. Pick Honeydew if you want a dedicated memory foam pillow with a suitcase-handle carry bag, or Homeify if the extra sleep and phone-viewing accessories will earn their space.
Choose the BlueHills royal blue blanket pillow for a more compact blanket size, or the beige tall version if additional coverage matters more. These blanket cases work best for travelers who want warmth and a pillow in one item, while the neck pillows better suit those seeking a cushion shaped for head and neck support.
